This photo defines our politics. Cancel Bud Light, or ask them to sponsor an event on the White House lawn?
The attacks are meaningless if you are willing and able to pay to play. America was made of the people and for the people.
The preamble of our modern times should read “We the corporations.”
For as much time as Texas HSFB and Texas college coaches love to use football as a way to teach “personal responsibility”, and that “actions have consequences”….
It’s all bullshit. Texas public school athletics are about winning. Bottom to top, top to bottom.
And a lot of athletes suffer because of it. The great ones and the average ones.
22 year old fitness influencers tell you that you need 8 hours of sleep, stretching followed by a good warm up, train scientifically, the sauna, a cold plunge and no microplastics
Most fathers are running on 5 hours of sleep, 400mg of caffeine, a quick warm up, crush a lift, meat & potatoes & disciple to get through the day
The world was built by men who showed up tired, not by men waiting for perfect conditions
@Watson_SLdn Our version is college football. Teams have been playing on the same sites for 100s of years, the fan loyalty is tied to your education and college years, it’s fun.
A few of my favorites…
Nippert Stadium 1915, Camp Randall Stadium 1917, Husky Stadium 1920, just to name a few.
This is an extremely eloquent way to gaslight you into understanding that he’s in control, and always right.
Compromise has nothing to do with things that are obviously black and white like these examples. Compromise is about when I want to live in a walkable one, and you want to live in a drivable one, so we decide to put in roads and sidewalks.
Practical everyday life requires compromise.
Sometimes we overuse the word hero. On June 6, 1944 that term wasn't used enough. To be 16-30 years old, (some young men lied about their age to fight) riding in a Higgins boat to storm the beaches of Normandy, or a C47 aircraft to parachute behind enemy lines. Now thats a hero.
Of course nothing will ever top the Anfield experience for a Liverpool fan….. but Raymond Jones Stadium in Tampa might just be the greatest stadium I’ve been to…an old fashioned, imposing cathedral of sport, complete with pirate ship!

Couldn’t agree more with you @mikeburgess99, and couldn’t disagree more with everyone in the comments, but then again, we struggle to appreciate even nice things here in the U.S.
Welcome!
Ray Jay is a top tier stadium, great sight lines, agreed on the great element that the pirate ship is, if you’re a local or a visitor you know it fits the culture, feels full with a good lower bowl, gets great volume on tv in big moments, and nothing beats a night game in the fall in Tampa. Just ask Chuckie….
@BarstoolGruden I will say these summer temps might make it tough though.
@TheRealJChubby And all his colleagues will continue to hide it because they are all power hungry enough to want to protect the same treatment for themselves in the rare instance they become president.
It’s literally nuts haha.
Well, if the average lifespan is 79 years old, while I love and respect wisdom, I don’t really want people whose lives are ending, to be in charge of the future of our country.
The sentiment is related to a governing body that is governing for its own class.
The average age of a Senator is 64, and a congressman is 58. I don’t even really fault them, but they’re governing and creating policy that benefits themselves.
That impacts sentiment a ton.
@historyinmemes Better yet, if you think about the way the men whose developing minds were educated in that time, the way they were raised might tell you more of a story as to how they thought, spoke, and governed.
Reagan won the Cold War. These men restarted it.
