#Sarajevo#Safari, very interesting analysis, looking forward to the next episodes. Shouldn’t western journalists be less superficial in their quest for visibility?
"Sarajevo Safari" – a triumph for the producers of fake news – and for audiences who love to consume cheap sensationalism. A media-critical thread. (Warning: veeery long.( 1/48:
“Sarajevo Safari” – the alleged story of wealthy foreigners coming to Sarajevo during the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia to shoot and kill people for money (and for fun) – is not a story about Sarajevo, or the war in Bosnia. But it is very much a story about unprofessional journalism.⬇️

Izaslanstvo, prima vrh NDH. Draža moli hranu, ljekove, municiju i prolaz prema Austriji. Pavelić sve dopušta kao svom savezniku. Prije toga mi imamo čitav niz dokumenta o zajedničkoj suradnji i o zajedničkoj borbi ustaša i četnika.

It was publicly and widely expected that at the June 3-4 meeting, the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) would select a new High Representative to provide stability for Bosnia and Hercegovina (BiH).
The U.S. delegation strove to achieve a consensus around a commonly shared vision and Italy’s well-qualified candidate, the experienced diplomat Ambassador Antonio Zanardi Landi.
Secretary Rubio described Italy’s candidate to Congress as a “gentleman that we think would do a good job of helping provide some stability to that position.”
The United States takes note of the European failure to reach consensus around a European candidate and is disappointed these divisions prevented the PIC from fulfilling its task to elect a new High Representative.
European indecisiveness, and the PIC’s abdication of its own duty toward BiH, is forcing the United States to reconsider our role in the current international presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
***
Delegacija SAD-a nastojala je postići konsenzus oko zajednički prihvaćene vizije i visoko kvalificiranog italijanskog kandidata, iskusnog diplomate ambasadora Antonija Zanardija Landija.
"Sarajevo Safari" and Der Spiegel vs. Vučić, update:
The article against which Serbia’s president was temporarily able to obtain an injunction (einstweilige Verfügung) from a court in Hamburg is now back online. Here is what happened:
Steal from the poor (country) to give to the rich (family).
No #Bosnian politicians are putting their face behind this deal.
Of course, elections are only 4 months away.
Will anybody have the guts to stand up against it?

“This could be the most important infrastructure project ever in 🇧🇦,” says one of the country’s top officials, who, like others, asks to remain anonymous to discuss sensitive negotiations.
The company has no record of even attempting anything close to this scale. What it does have is personal connections to Donald Trump.
The @guardian investigation shows how 🇺🇸 presidency blurs line between policy and enrichment of American ruling family and those around it.

The massacre of Meja and Korenica in 1999. In these two Kosovo villages, Serbian forces shot ca. 350 Albanians in revenge for 4 killed members of the Serbian police. Yet if you ask young Serbs about Meja & Korenica - most have never heard of those places.
