@mikeruizxyz@LoveCodeTrade That's a fair point. I just don't think spending billions on public transport within sf is warranted, as shown by the Central Subway which cost 1.9 B, and is used far less than projected.
@mikeruizxyz@LoveCodeTrade Sure, AVs can glitch. But the bar isn't perfection, it's humans. Their 'hallucination rate' is already lower than a driver who's drunk, high, or running on 3 hours of sleep. Same goes for transit. Remember the Muni operator who fell asleep at the controls a few weeks ago?
@mikeruizxyz@LoveCodeTrade In a sea of perfect drivers, traffic would be minimal. Traffic jams come from human inefficiencies like rubbernecking, late merges, and phantom braking.
@Troutski__ BART runs through five counties and most boardings aren't in San Francisco. Taxing SF corporations to run a regional railroad means Fremont and Walnut Creek commute on one city's tax base. Dumb idea
@mattyglesias Majority of SF voters are pretty brain dead and dont understand basic economics. Lurie wants to stay in power, and sponsors policy that is pretty centrist for upcoming midterms. Doubt much of this policy will actually impact housing its to appease idiot sf far left progressives
@furudowerika@aidenwpkenny The graph is misleading. The peso has actually stabilized, as shown in the graph. Inflation cannot be deflationary as that would be far more harmful. One can only seek to get inflation to decrease (level out on the graph)
