Ultimately I think the Banks pick came down to the fact that this draft was very short on blue chip players. While Banks' tape wasn't blue chip, the ceiling undeniably is, and the flashes were certainly there. The fracture was a 4th metatarsal which typically isn't concerning or recurring long term (Thanks Claude).
Banks has a frame that ultimately should bode well against the run and the athleticism to remain explosive as a pass rusher (20% win rate on true pass sets).
He has excess tape of immediate wins where he gets his hands on a linemen before the lineman can touch him (length), then uses that excess power to move them aside, and then blends the short space explosiveness to bend around them. So many of his wins are reminiscent of Chris Jones. Just needs more consistency and refinement.
@Daniel_Penrod11@verysadvikings Iโd be more inclined if he played at his elite level last year, but you donโt know what kind of trajectory heโs going on now after having his worst season.
@TPPSkol He puts Vikings in a hole for the future and he came off his worst season. Turning 29 this year. If Kyler is good this year youโll have to pay him too. Great player but not sure itโs worth it at this point.
Surveying teams across the NFL on Dexter Lawrence. No consensus on what his value is. It's difficult to determine because, sources told @snytv, because you've seen complete dominance ... then questions in 2025 on work ethic/shape/drop in production.
The need for a new contract, likely one near $35m APY, muddies the waters.
Still, if the #Giants actually entertain moving their captain, some of the numbers I've heard from teams ..
- A late 2026 first-round pick
- A 2027 first-round pick
- A second & fifth round pick
