Cedric Neal captivates as the leading player in @sigtheatre’s Pippin. His runs in Glory are unreal. It really makes me wish I had the chance to see his Hermes on the West End.
The rest of the cast is also strong. Eric Hissom made the most of his gifts as a physical comedian. Naomi Jacobson’s No Time at All was pitch perfect. Among the players, Hank von Kolnitz stood out to me every time he was on stage.
I’m not usually a fan of one-man shows (and I do think this may have been better as a two hander), but Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going To Happen (@Studio_Theatre) is clever and charming. Stevie Webb can absolutely hold the stage for an hour plus.
It was also incredible to watch this proshot in a room full of people who were applauding and cheering the entrances and songs. Highly recommend seeing it in theaters if you can.
Spoiler free Hadestown proshot reaction:
It was awesome. I’m so glad that there’s going to be a permanent and accessible version of this musical and that it was done so well.
hello public service announcement if u are seeing the hadestown proshot before its official release pls put a spoiler warning i wanna go in blind ok thank u
I’m really glad I got to see Death Becomes Her before it closes, even if Michelle Williams and Betsy Wolfe were out today. It’s campy and silly and completely delightful.
@riverfahey I really want to see it! I prioritized DBH and Chess this time because they’re closing, but Lost Boys is at the top of my list for my next trip.
Laurie Metcalf’s performance in Death of a Salesman is absolutely brilliant. She reinvents Linda as a fierce and steely force, and, IMHO, that interpretation works so much better than a doting and naive housewife.
