In the past 3 years there have been 8+ times where I'm walking with visibly Jewish men (kippah, tzitzit) and people will spit or yell something like this at us. They do this simply because they see jews. That is antisemitism and if you can't understand that.. touch grass.

There have been threats against the community, so a shooting in an area with a not insignificant amount of Jewish community infrastructure.. raises alarm bells. It's not "a Jewish neighbourhood" but it's not, "not a Jewish neighbourhood" either.

@jewishstudent1 For sure. But I'm not gonna dismiss his experience it's just a bias to factor in. The interesting pull from the article imo is calling out the lack of conviction ppl have in Torah umadda. Or viewing Torah umadda as a compromise instead of a pillar or value.
