“Goodbye California” is out now 🌅💔This song is about love, change, and watching something you care about evolve into something unfamiliar. For anyone who’s had to say goodbye to a relationship… or to a version of a place that doesn’t exist the way it used to - this is for you
Decentralized cloud gaming is one of the coolest ideas in the industry right now. I’m genuinely excited about it, but I’m keeping a realistic perspective.
In two words, what is it:
Instead of running games through massive NVIDIA, Microsoft or Amazon data centers (like GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud, Luna), everything runs on a network of regular gamers’ PCs/laptops and small providers. You rent out your idle GPU to the network, earn tokens/money, and someone else plays AAA games on their phone/TV/browser without installing anything or needing powerful hardware. It all runs on DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure), blockchain, smart contracts and often with AI optimization.
@YOM_Official is the brightest example of “powered by gamers”. Your gaming rig becomes a node in the network, games stream instantly (in Telegram, Discord, any website — just like a YouTube video).
20× cheaper than centralized clouds;
~20 ms latency in test regions;
up to +1300 % growth in DAU for studios.
There are already 40+ studios and hundreds of thousands of users.
Pros:
Cost — 10–95% cheaper than AWS/Azure. Publishers finally stop bleeding money on servers.
Accessibility — any phone/browser/TV, no downloading 100 GB games. Especially great for developing countries and mobile gaming.
Gamers earn money — your RTX actually pays for itself.
Unlimited scaling — add more nodes and capacity just grows.
Censorship resistance and true ownership in Web3 games.
Cons:
Quality and stability are still a lottery: one node goes offline → lag, another has bad upload → artifacts.
Global latency is still worse than top centralized services (though locally YOM is already competitive).
My take YOM isn’t just hype — they’ve proven the tech (testnet is working), won awards (Gamescom Startup of the Year), and even BCG is digging the ground right under them. 2026 is going to be the breakout year: cloud gaming will go mainstream at “almost free” prices. If your rig is just collecting dust — go launch a node at https://t.co/7FE3eEbpu4, you’ll make some $YOM.
Are you already in the network? Have you tried running a node or are you waiting for Mainnet?
