This all feels quite significant at a time in which so many of us have been forever altered by the images of grieving mothers and by the wailing of orphaned children.

Let’s take time today to reflect and honor the lineage of Ancestral mothers that we all come from, for they too endured unthinkable cruelties, but they persisted and their determination made space for our existence.

May those women come to us and fill us up so that as long as we have breath in our bodies, we’ll use it to speak out against injustice.
