Remembering the legendary Meena Kumari on her death anniversary. 🕊️
Beyond her iconic roles, Bollywood's 'Tragedy Queen' poured her soul into poetry under the pen name 'Naaz'. Her profound verses were beautifully preserved in her acclaimed collection, "Tanha Chand".
Remembering Robert Lee Frost (1874 - 1963) on his birth anniversary. He had a rare gift for turning everyday language into profound reflections on human duty and isolation. He became the only poet to win four Pulitzer Prizes for this exact skill, and hearing his original cadence paired with this soulful Urdu translation by Anisur Rahman is a perfect reminder of his lasting influence.
"And miles to go before I sleep." What does this famous line mean to you right now? Tell us in the comments.

He never spoke of it directly, yet his poetry was always heavy with an unspoken truth. It’s the beautiful irony of a legend whose silent chapter with Love, fueled the very verses that taught a generation how to love. 🥀

In the Sufism, the heart knows no true forgetting. When love for the Beloved burns deep, every attempt to erase You only fans the flame higher.
O Friend, I lack the strength to forget You because forgetting would mean dimming the only light that keeps this soul awake and alive. You are my permanent remembrance.

‘A thing of beauty is a joy for ever.’
Remembering John Keats on his death anniversary, — a poet who turned fleeting life into eternal verse.

As Chaitra approaches, my Ashoka tree bursts into beautiful bloom.
Mayadevi gave birth to the Buddha holding on to its branches (not the Sal - as is wrongly believed), yakshis appear framed by its silhouette and its dense flower clusters appear in Kamadeva's quiver
In the Sufi gaze, death is not an end but a sacred reunion. The lover's soul returns joyfully to the Beloved. Beyond the veil of ego and form, it is fana: sweet annihilation in divine love, where separation dissolves into eternal union. Why fear the door when it opens to Home?

Remembering Khwaja Mohammad Idris, better known as Kaif Bhopali, on his birth anniversary. Born in 1920 in Bhopal, he grew up around poetry. His mother was a poet herself, and Kaif was drawn to poetry from an early age.
In 1949, he moved to Bombay (Mumbai) and began writing lyrics for films. He gave us timeless songs like “Chalo Dildaar Chalo” and “Aaj Hum Apni Duaon Ka Asar Dekhenge” from Pakeezah (1972). Later, he stepped away from the film industry and returned to Bhopal.

The silence of the lover is not emptiness, but a sacred space where the soul listens to the Beloved. In stillness, divine secrets are whispered to the heart.
