Today would have been @DrMayaAngelou's 95th birthday. As a girl, she endured trauma and abuse that actually led her to stop speaking. But as a performer and writer, she found her voice—a voice that has spoken to millions, and inspired countless others over the years.
I don’t think people take the space inside their heads seriously enough. The mind is a very sacred place, it’s where beliefs grow. And beliefs are powerful. Every cell in your body eavesdrops on your thoughts, your beliefs are the starting point of what you do and who you become.
Your body shows up every day — regardless of what you put it through, giving you its best to help you navigate life. The least we can do is nourish, respect and prioritize it. You have one body, appreciate it accordingly.
People are only ever going to understand what they can from their level of understanding. Words can’t get anyone to level up their consciousness. That part of understanding comes only with spiritual accountability.
i don’t think it’s fair that the US can get away with tainting the food in the way it does without warning or education. it doesn’t feel fair & i think people deserve greater transparency. especially when the food has great capability to affect their physical & mental health.
Ritualize your routines — view them not as something you must do but that you love doing. Set up your schedule so it serves and inspires you. Make magic from the mundane.
When you reinterpret what happened to you, as something that happened to facilitate your awakening - you change your relationship to it. You take your power back.
