This may sound crazy but it’s not.

Prices should reflect real costs, and the real cost of electricity during solar hours is a lot closer to zero than $0.40/kWh.

Current rates disincentivize consumption when power is cheap, and subsidize it when it’s expensive.

That distortion disincentivizes load shifting and battery storage.

Simply making power free for 2 hours every day isn’t the best way to go about it, but it would still be way better than what we have now.

With accurate price signals, electrification would skyrocket and prices would plummet.

In South Africa, my father was a “conscientious objector” to vaccines. So, at school, when pupils lined up for vaccines, my brothers, sisters, and I stood apart. A friend told me people thought we were the weird Americans, although we were Canadians.

I agree. Each city has its own charm with different cultural sites to see. Buildings and streets are clean and in good repair. Also, people are polite, hard-working, and respectful. I feel safe, so enjoy going to China.

I had no choice. I was booked for a modeling job in Italy and had to be vaccinated although I already had Covid and my antibodies were high. I also needed three tests before getting on the flight, and two tests after landing in Rome. Again two tests before leaving Italy and returning home. Sigh….

In my early 60s, I was doing mainly paid commercial jobs. When I was asked to do a free creative photoshoot for a makeup book I didn’t quite understand what they meant, but took a chance. The creative team was very talented. I had no idea the photos would look so good. This slow change from catalogs to couture is in my new book coming out mid-September. @XFashion
