@RLTrane Since you are a descendant of George Soule, you may be interested to check out my YouTube channel on 11/14 in the evening. I will be posting a 39-minute documentary on George Soule. https://t.co/LhwIxfD83s
The "Brewster Book Manuscript" was unveiled at the Pilgrim Hall Museum last week. This 17th century manuscript, not fully published until now, contains new historical material about Plymouth Colony: letters, patents, provision lists, and more. Order yours: https://t.co/ip3kMAIe1W
My first documentary (written/edited/produced) covering Mayflower passenger George Soule, will be posted to MayflowerHistory's brand new YouTube channel on the evening of Nov 14. Please visit now to subscribe and turn on notifications. More videos soon! https://t.co/LhwIxfD83s
@CCCJennaD He was born about 1636, the son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Bosworth of Rehoboth, and grandson of Edward and Mary Bosworth. The Bosworths appear to have come to America about 1633. A good source is Robert C. Anderson, “Great Migration Begins”, vol 1, pgs. 187-191.
I will be giving a brief presentation at the Mayflower 400th Anniversary Constitution Week conference, streaming on YouTube today. Before me will be Nathaniel Philbrick and Nick Bunker, among others. You can watch online here: https://t.co/FB75PPf4xF
"Wednesday the sixth of September, the wind coming east northeast, a fine small gale, we loosed from Plymouth, having been kindly entertained and courteously used by divers friends there dwelling ..." And so 400 years ago today (adj for 10 day calendar diff) the crossing began.
@hollyblaikie Published in the article: Caleb Johnson, Sue Allan and Simon Neal, “The English Origin and Kinship of Mayflower Passengers William White and Dorothy (May) Bradford of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire”, The American Genealogist 89(2017):81-94,168-188. https://t.co/W9XzJOLxLd.
@GardnerTally The passengers of the Anne and other early ships to Plymouth are well covered in "Pilgrim Migration" by Robert C. Anderson. https://t.co/OIqgR47lIN
I will be speaking at an NEHGS conference in Boston on September 14: "New Discoveries in Mayflower Genealogy", along with Simon Neal, Sue Allan, Robert C. Anderson and Christopher Child. If interested, here are the event details: https://t.co/wTgov7rbAl
I am pleased to announce that our findings on the English origins of Mayflower passenger Isaac Allerton have been published. Find them in New England Historical and Genealogical Register 173(Summer 2019):197-205. Son of Bartholomew and Mary Allerton of East Bergholt, Suffolk.
@RebeccaSiegel14 I think it is unlikely the Pilgrims were carrying printing press components. Theirs in Leiden was confiscated in 1619, and distributing printed works into England from America would have been impractical.
We discovered the origins and parentage of Mayflower passenger Elizabeth Barker and more records of her family/activities at Chattisham. Our article in NEHGR (winter 2019 issue). During that research we also discovered Isaac Allerton's parents in East Bergholt ... details soon.
@coldorangina It was a documentary “Stephano: The True Story of Shakespeare’s Shipwreck” by PBS’s Hit and Run History, but unfortunately I don’t think it ever came out.
@MoPubs Thanks very much, link fixed. I have met some Brewster-surnamed descendants. Looking at https://t.co/Lz8ezl5GEb, for example, I see the VP is Stewart Brewster.
Happy Thanksgiving! I am spending it in Florida, following presentations and speeches I gave in Mobile, Naples, and Fort Lauderdale. Several new Mayflower discoveries are in the publication pipeline, so stay tuned!
@dumduck2@Rwhite42White I don’t know about short articles, but our 40pg article has all the latest: "The English Origin and Kinship of Mayflower Passengers William White and Dorothy (May) Bradford of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire," The American Genealogist, 89-2(April 2017):81-94 and 89-3(July 2017):168-188.
Sue Allan's new book on Susanna (Jackson)(White) Winslow, fills out her biography in great detail, based on our recently published discoveries (The American Genealogist 89[Oct 2017]:241-264), and is due out in a month, on April 9. Get it then from https://t.co/wCUZz9i5tW!
