ORIGAMI (not to be with the unreleased ‘222’ poem that is ACTUALLY called ‘Origami’) was the code name for the poem ‘GENITAL MUTILATION’. it was selected because i was a little too scared to reveal that title (due to its graphic nature) so early on.

i just wrote a new poem for ‘house fire’. the title itself is very graphic, so i am just going to refer to it as ‘origami’ for now. i truly don’t think i will BE ABLE to put this poem out as the metaphor it uses is extremely bloody and taboo. it’s definitely a sister poem to another disturbing poem in the project (one that i haven’t revealed the title of yet) and is one of three poems in the writing sessions that i would class as having aggressively disturbing metaphors.

HOUSE FIRE will WITHOUT A DOUBT be released at some point. It will not become a private project like I considered a little while ago. Even if the transgressive nature of this book causes a scandal, it will be worth it, because this feels like the art I want to make right now.

‘House Fire: The Annex’ could drop around 6-months after the completion of ‘HOUSE FIRE’. I want it to expand this project significantly by adding both outtakes from the standard edition, and new poems written specifically for the deluxe. it will expand both acts (focus on act 2).

it also might have something to do with the fact that HOUSE FIRE has not been pieced together yet or revisited loads of times during the sessions. it has been lots and lots of new writing consistently from the start.

some of these HOUSE FIRE-era poems feel ancient omg 😭 for some reason, the earlier poems feel so much older to me now than the early poems for ‘222’ did at this point in last year. I think it’s because ‘222’ remained in the same voice & place, while HOUSE FIRE expanded.

I’m starting to think that HOUSE FIRE might become a private project. This book is really intimate, and dark, and covers my experiences/feelings in graphic, sad detail. I don’t know how to feel. I’m glad I have poetry as an outlet, but maybe these pieces just shouldn’t go out.

Blood Red Porno, is now complete or near-complete. I think this poem might be the most accurate summary of how I’ve felt in the past through sexual relationships.

I’m finished with ‘Body Double’ for ‘House Fire’ and I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s good and accurate to my experience, but it feels rough in a way that I don’t know how to correct. It abides to its meter, concept and plans perfectly, but something feels off about it.
