A little boy who was once expected to have his life support withdrawn is still here .. and still making progress. ❤️

Arthur Tétrault suffered a near-drowning accident in Quebec in October 2024 and was transferred to Montreal Children’s Hospital. His parents say doctors gave them an extremely poor prognosis and discussed withdrawing life support and organ donation.

The family ultimately transferred Arthur to the United States for further treatment. Reporting from the time said he was later breathing independently and regaining movement.

Montreal Children’s Hospital disputes the family’s characterization of what happened, saying treatment decisions followed established protocols and that organ donation discussions occur only when death is considered inevitable and do not influence patient care.

Arthur’s family has continued seeking treatment and, in a later update, said he was still alive, breathing on his own, interacting more and beginning to say words.

Whatever view you take of the medical decisions involved, Arthur’s story is a remarkable reminder of why families sometimes seek second opinions when the outlook appears hopeless. 🙏❤️
