Pyrantel pamoate, albendazole and mebendazole are all called dewormers but work differently.

Pyrantel usually paralyzes worms so they cannot move, the intestinal movement then passes them out in your stool.
It targets fewer forms of worms, especially pinworms and roundworms.

Albendazole has broader activity and better absorption. It deprives worms of the ability to utilize glucose and they die. It targets all forms of worms, their eggs and other parasitic infections.

Mebendazole works similarly to albendazole but has poor absorption.

So if your goal is to see a partially moving worm in your stool, you know which to choose😎
