@TPATZ12@BKoethler I have confirmed that the ice plant is down. Unfortunately the parts were ordered 12 weeks ago, and due to Covid-19, there has been delays in shipping. It is anticipated that the parts are still several weeks away. The issue was identified back in March when we first shut down.
Town of Drayton Valley is opening our facilities. If I was the Reeve of Brazeau County, I would advocate to have the golf course driving range lift the “appointment only” policy.
Exciting news!! Town of Drayton Valley Council will be holding a special meeting of Council tomorrow at 9am to discuss opening our facilities inline with the Provincial recommendations.
“Here’s the sack, but you have to supply the knobs”. Once again The Simpson’s predicted our future in a hilarious, yet terrifiying decision made my Minneapolis City Council.
@SteveChappy I cannot wrap my head around the decision they are making, it is ridiculous. I believe the saying “don’t cut off your nose to spite your face” might be accurate here.
@jkenney I know my letter reached your office. I was wondering when I could expect a reply (other than you passed it on to Economic Trade and Development)?
I’m not a big fan of the term “new normal”, but if I was going to use it, maybe the new normal should include a reverse of urban densification! Rural Alberta (specifically Drayton Valley) has done an amazing job in keeping COVID cases to a minimum (zero in our case).
Boston Marathon cancelled for the first time in 124 years. Are we getting soft or has social media allowed our lives to be controlled by fear? COVID-19 has impacted many people, but in 124 years we have seen the Spanish Flu, 2 world wars, and a depression we called The Great!
“Government debt has a long association with inflation, so the Parliamentary Budget Officer’s April 30 forecast that debt will spike to about 50 per cent of gross domestic product in 2021 from about 30 per cent last year is making some people nervous.” https://t.co/UskpwEcH8D
Michael Campbell on MoneyTalks said it best, “I find it more than unsettling that the government didn’t have an understanding of the economic and financial impact of choosing the most extreme option to fight the spread of COVID-19, and that was shutting down the economy”.
Today during the Regular Meeting of Council, the Final 2020 Budget was passed.
The 2020 Budget outlines financial relief measures, and ways in which the Town is investing in businesses and supporting our community!

If 70% of Canada’s beef comes from 2 Alberta packing plants, why don’t we turn off the proverbial taps until Ottawa listens too us? Or maybe we can ship it to them via the Panama Canal?
