The Bible is so clear on how important it is to never look back. God tells us to "remember Lots wife"; Who turned into..... pillar of salt! Stuck in time. I pray that when you're tempted to "go back", the spirit of God reminds you that you have too much to look forward to. 🤍
@iam_jniest There really should've been stricter rules and laws for history/culture markers that prohibit that corrupt practice of putting names/faces adjacent, on, or near markers.
former ateneo basketball player dom escobar took to his ig story to share a personal memory of divine adili, recalling one of the first times he ever saw him.
14 will live on ♾️🫂
agree. in the first place, ateneo did not properly reach out to her about what happened. do people expect her to be rational at this point and do some fact-finding of her own? she’s deprived of the truth and you expect her (and the public) to give ateneo some grace??
Not an Ateneo alumna or anything, but I have always held high respect for thr institution considering it was ran by Jesuits. Pero wow. Sobrang nakakadismaya how they handled the Baterbonia tragedy. For a highly reputable institution, ang pangit ng crisis management niyo
I just started to catch up on this.
As someone who studied at the Ateneo and whose favorite UAAP basketball team is the Ateneo Blue Eagles (together with the UP Fighting Maroons), without a doubt Ateneo fucked up BIG TIME!
This statement that they released is just cold!
I just watched the videos of Rene Clert Baterbonia’s grieving mother and I can’t imagine the pain she’s feeling. She can’t stop crying over the sudden loss of her son!
Instead of providing immediate assistance, comfort, and clarity to a grieving family, Ateneo prioritized releasing a public statement. The parents actually had to find out about their own son’s death through social media! OMG!
You completely failed to attend to Rene’s parents and you also didnlt accompany Rene to the funeral home! You didn’t even bother to change his clothes! No staff or coach from the Ateneo Blue Eagles! No consolation, no answers, no just pure negligence.
Inuna niyo pa ang PR at damage control kaysa sa pamilya ng namatayan!
Nakakainis at nakakadismaya!
JUSTICE FOR RENE and DIVINE!
Makes you wonder--if Rene Baterbonia came from an elite rich family, would Ateneo take the same stance of silence and obfuscation it is so intent on keeping now?
Coach Jess has stood as Rene Baterbonia's second father -- having coached him for the past six years in Ateneo de Davao and DAVRAA.

this fucking i-witness episode is so good grabe gigil ko sa sagot ng doh secretary natin hayup talaga 😭
yung nanay ng bata habang buhay dala dala yung pag-iisip na "sana hindi na lang niya pinayagan anak niya" edi kasama pa rin niya the thoughts of this talaga. like ang lala lang na may mag dedefend sa school hindi na inisip yung mga batang nawala at mga pamilyang naiwan. jusko po ganyan na ba kayo katalangka mag-isip these days just to defend a school? wala bang accountability dyan sa vocabulary niyo.
“We opened our doors and ensured everyone's safety. Pero bakit ganoon? Ang kaisa-isang atleta namin na ipinagkatiwala sa inyo, hindi ninyo nagawang ingatan?”
@ateneodemanilau ano na??? wala kayong kwenta!!!
Dito mo talaga malalaman discrimination sa athlete porket galing probinsiya at foreigner ganun lang, pero yung bully na taekwondo "bugbug o dignidad" may presscon pa ang hinayupak. Tang inang school yan. Suspend na yang basketball ng ateneo hanggat walang managot.
We always say that student-athletes are students first before athletes.
But after this unfortunate incident, may we remember that first and foremost, they are someone’s child, sibling, and friend.
May justice and accountability prevail.
No parent deserves to go through this.
