Earning $100,000 a year today can feel a lot like earning $50,000 a year used to.
Inflation was actually more dramatic from 1975 to 2000 than from 2000 to 2025.
The 1970s brought oil shocks, rapidly rising prices and wages, and inflation that eventually reached double digits, forcing the Federal Reserve to push interest rates to extraordinary levels in the early 1980s.
Once inflation was brought under control, the 1990s saw relatively stable prices. Roughly speaking, $32,000 in 1975 had similar purchasing power to about $100,000 in 2000.
Since 2000, prices have risen more slowly overall, despite the sharp post-pandemic surge. That same $100,000 from 2000 would be worth roughly $200,000 today.
I’m a doctor. This executive order is wrong. The President does not have the expertise to make these changes.
Vaccines are overwhelmingly safe. Vaccines are effective. Vaccines DO NOT cause autism.
Breaking up vaccines will mean children have to get more shots to get the same protection, not fewer shots. It will increase hesitancy and make children less safe.
Parents should listen to their child’s pediatrician about vaccines rather than listening to an inaccurate executive order. This is so wrong.

@38Godfrey I think two things can be true. The PCSA is flawed and the media is only telling one side of the story about it. But also, the fan experience is more sterile than it used to be. That said, bring on athletes as employees, multiyear contracts, a draft, salary cap, all of it.
True independence means I won't caucus with either party. I left the two party system for a reason. My focus will be on the people I serve right here in Idaho - not on party loyalty tests or political stunts. An Independent Idaho vote means we can make Congress actually deliver for the American people.
I would say this isn’t a Beamer thing. Most of our good seasons started with low expectations. Most years when we have any expectations at all, that’s when we are a disaster.
From @PhilMullinax (the mad dog) what College Football Expert @philsteele042 told us exclusively about Carolina in July.
He joins @GamecocksShow tomorrow.

Thanks to @fulcrum_us for running my piece on the DNC proposing to ban counting ranked choice voting ballots in 2028 presidential primaries - much to state parties frustration. See: https://t.co/k1HmRxdXvV
So the SEC’s toughness is allegedly all just a product of media hype, but simultaneously the national panel of coaches say seven of the preseason top 13 are SEC teams?
What a nightmare. By implementing the tariffs illegally, and now having to unwind them, the Trump administration created over $100 billion of profit for corporations selling foreign products, at the expense of American consumers.
Your refund: $0.00
Apple’s profit: $2.2 billion
10% of all the debt accumulated in the 250 year history of this country will be incurred in the first half of Trump’s second term, with Mike Johnson and John Thune leading Congress.
I’m unashamed to have been kicked off “team debt” for not going along with this.
Experts are calling for new heatstroke guidelines for lineman.
OL / DL account for 90% of heatstroke deaths at HS and college level.

"The vaunted $20M roster that everybody talked about for Ohio State two years ago would now be one of the cheapest rosters in the Big Ten..
With no real cap people are going to just keep on spending..
The cost isn't going to go down" ~ @PeteThamel#PMSLive

@WesMitchellGC@GamecockCentral@18_cockerson I think this is a great idea and I’ve said so for years. Wild idea that I have also had– the winner of Carolina Clemson gets to wear this uniform in the game the following year as sort of a wearable trophy.
