consistency is not a measure for your self worth, how busy you’re keeping is not an indication of your productivity, allow your slow days to be hours of recovery and resist the urge to guilt yourself for the moments where doing nothing fills your lungs with air.
to whom this may concern;
their lack of accountability doesn’t erase the validity of your feelings, their inability to look in the mirror isn’t a plea to assume responsibility of reflections that don’t belong to you, know your truth and spend less time trying to polish theirs.
I’d seen a lot of writing about living alone during the pandemic and I felt the weight of that. Now the power is out and there’s nothing - no sound, no light, not even heat. And I’m left only w/thoughts of a federal and state government that has failed us on every level.
At the end of Ch 2 - I (@AliciaMaureenB) am pretty sure I know what happened because I know this world (have read Six of Crows, etc before and know the universe a bit) but @mayraperezglez has questions! It's fun to read with her and see what it's like from...
So many things to say about Chapter 1. Where do I start? The negative? The jump from third person to first was disorienting for a moment (but I adjusted quickly) - Thoughts, #ReadingCommunity? Is that a thing that bothers you or is it just me? #BaQReads
Peytra is dedicated to representing the goddess Fregh faithfully, noting her divine weapons and her intense rage.
I read this powerful moment passage over and over again. It sheds light onto Peytra's power, as well as the complexities within the society of Mask of the Nobleman.
Laura Díaz de Arce (@QuetaAuthor) certainly deserves more recognition. I'm still at the beginning of the novel and it already has so much depth. It has made me feel things. I could have an entire conversation based solely on the implications of the scene I just read.
I owe so much to @QuetaAuthor and @BlenderFiction for sharing their stories with the world. Reading their work over the past month has rekindled my love of reading.
So far, Mask of the Nobleman has been able to hold my attention and keep me engaged. Lately, it's been very difficult to remain interested in a book for more than just the first few pages, so this is definitely promising! It speaks to Laura Díaz de Arce's skill as an author.
@AliciaMaureenB@MargaretWinds@BaQ_Mag I’m reading them for the first time and I really like Shadow and Bone so far! So definitely recommend you read ‘em!
I’m excited to read a Grishaverse novel a week with @BaQ_Mag from now until the release of the Netflix series in late April. I read up to chapter 3 of Shadow and Bone tonight with @AliciaMaureenB. I’m already loving the book, so February, March, & April will be amazing. #BaQReads

Single doesn't suck on Valentine's when you have a great friend like @mayraperezglez and you drink cava, eat great food, and watch Hamilton together from opposite coasts.
Between multiple jobs, grad school, and family emergencies, reading began to lose its joy. Rekindling my love of books has been painful and slow. I’m grateful to Laura Diaz de Arce (@QuetaAuthor) for writing a book that helped connect me to my love of reading once more!
I’m really excited to read Mask of the Nobleman! I was already anxiously awaiting the moment I would be able to read @QuetaAuthor’s book. Then I realized it was a retelling of Beauty in the Beast, one of my favorite fairytales. I end up reading instead of sleeping tonight. 👀
This week, our staff member @mayraperezglez will be reading and live-tweeting her reactions to Mask of the Nobleman, written by indie author Laura Díaz de Arce (@QuetaAuthor). This romance novel with a dash of fantasy is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
