#Propfirms
Firstly, to read this, saddens me.
But why?
Well most will read this as this company 'fraudulently made' $300M, however, I look at this and I see $300M of people's earnings desperately trying to change their lives and their financial situation. I also see this as an event that continues to damage an industry that is notorious for fraud, scamming and stealing, yes stealing!
I don't have a propfirm account nor have I ever used a propfirm and that's not to say I never will either. I really like what @wordsofrizdom and his team are doing. They come across as professional, reliable and consistent. These are important characteristics no matter what industry you are in.
Personally, I have just always focused on my personal account as for me there's more at stake and eliminates any impulsive decisions but equally keeps me in check with my requirements and strategy. For me, this works.
Yes, experienced traders can make mistakes. We're human and any trader who says they don't make mistakes are lying.
When I look at this in more detail and I read "To Become Professional Traders" this screams at me. What does it scream? It screams gamblers and lack of education.
As a trader, it annoys me when people say I gamble. I absolutely do not. I take calculated risks that has a definitive loss should I be wrong (and yes I've been wrong plenty). Gamblers lose. I don't, I gain experience and still have my bag.
The lack of education is a bone I have to pick though. Why, whether it be paid or free, there's so much out there. Yes, always important to do your due diligence before paying for someone's course (but some are great) and you should exhaust free resources before looking for paid. But the problem I see today is attention spans are dead (congrats if you are still reading) but also everyone wants it now! Today! Yesterday if possible! This is wrong.
I have spent years learning to give me the skillset I have today. Real traders learn, fail and learn again. Every trader continues to learn even when they are financially free. Learning never stops!
You need to learn simple as!
1. Education = Time
2. Time = Money but Personal Investment
3. Personal Investment = A skillset that you can learn that can lead to profitability
So it's fair to say education = profitable (over time)
Educate/Backtest/Execute
It's that simple.
To give credit where credit is due @RajaBanks said it best, if you are struggling for funds but can trade, trade your personal account and withdraw the funds to buy your propfirm challenge. This reduces and eliminates personal exposure completely. Then you can attempt your challenge.
People paying others to pass challenges is also something I've seen. Honestly, if you are paying for this, you are a gambler and you will lose. Simple as.
So to conclude, educate yourself, backtest, and learn to trade. This may take years. But what takes years can give you freedom for life. Don't get lost in the social media world. Anyone can pay for props and fake money, including nice cars or villas btw!
