Tragic news from the worlds of fashion and film: longtime Dior PR executive Mathilde Favier and her husband, prominent French film producer Nicolas Altmayer, have died together in a car crash in France. 💔

The couple were killed on August 17 after their car reportedly collided head-on with a truck in western France.

Favier, 57, was one of Paris fashion’s best-connected figures and spent years overseeing celebrity relations at Christian Dior Couture, serving as a key link between the house and the stars who wore Dior on red carpets around the world.

Altmayer, 61, co-founded Mandarin & Compagnie with his brother Eric in 1996 and became one of France’s leading film producers, with credits including OSS 117, Brice de Nice, Young & Beautiful, Saint Laurent and By the Grace of God.

Their sudden deaths have sent shockwaves through both the French fashion and film industries. Rest in peace. 🕯️

Inflation was 2.6pc in June and the July figure will be published on Wednesday. The consensus is inflation is set to increase, with the consumer price index (CPI) expected to be up 2.8pc or 2.9pc during the year to last month.
