@VafrmMd @reubenjmiller Right, no federal executions will be carried out while the moratorium is in place but the DOJ sought the death penalty for Tsarnaev and defended its use for Roof.
Never ending punishments aren’t making us safer, but they are cruel and unjust. SB 2333 is a common sense, modest proposal that allows the State take a look at extremely long prison sentences that we’re handed down decades ago. Excited to see the GA take this on.
Big thank you to @chancetherapper for taking time to learn and strategize with us on how we can establish a fair system of release to our fam in prisons here in Illinois.
It's time to end Slow Death Row.

One of the biggest myths is that punishment occurs after conviction.
For most, it begins with a police accusation- a suspicion.
That commences brutal punishment in jails across the US upon people that are “presumed” innocent under the law.
@KeeangaYamahtta@prisonculture Last week, I saw my comrades in the PNAP think tank on Zoom for the first time in over a year. They are serving life sentences and are owed their freedom and so much more. Amidst our joy at seeing one another, they soberly reminded us that while they survived Covid many did not.
