@ChristoRobusto1 @RealLTCRicBosi This is a British police officer, and that uniform has been around for 15+ years. It’s nothing new, no new step ‘toward’ anything. The uniform represents a particular role (police liason), which is a role that forms a part of public order policing, and other areas of policing.

@danwootton That’s nothing new in terms of armed policing. We have armed officers patrolling 24/7/ 365 days a year.

Why would it not be accepted? The UK has changed in the last 20 years. More weapons on the streets, more violent crime. Most definitely a place for armed policing.

Not normally one to jump on these types of band wagons but this one’s close to my heart

Our police force are undermanned well under paid and over criticised by Karen with her NVQ level 1 in nail care who “pays their wages”

If this week hasn’t proven they need to be better supported and better funded I don’t know what does.

It will get to a stage where even the coppers have had enough.

I hope they’re all safe and get to go home to their families 💂🏻‍♀️

Whilst the officer will still need to justify his use of force and honest held belief, my views on this are 1) genuine disgust at seeing the appalling and protracted violent assaults that multiple officers sustained 1/2

It just annoys me seeing our police force put in these types of situation with poor backing /funding from politicians. 😊

@Sarahcoxon8 @NeilMackay The police can’t get funding to equip the workforce with Taser. I think we’ll be waiting a long time before we see all British police armed with firearms.

Until then, this is (wrongfully) how police have to deal with things, whilst putting their safety at risk.
