@FWE_DND I wasn’t there, I’m just pointing out how stupid it is to suggest the police officers should be charged (with what offence?) based on information that wasn’t available at the time.
@FWE_DND@ObamaWellington@SAshworthHayes He was bleeding internally, nothing we carry can deal with that.
NCHIs weren’t investigated, they were just recorded as required by the Conservative government at the time.
@FWE_DND@ObamaWellington@SAshworthHayes I’ve not disputed they’ve handcuffed him, what charge would you like them to get for that? Handcuffing people is an entirely normal activity that officers undertake. Are you suggesting the police should immediately know who is in the wrong when they turn up to a fight?
@FWE_DND@ObamaWellington@SAshworthHayes You said the police should be charged. My point is with what? There’s no indication that officers did anything wrong.
Again our comms are woeful. We really need to be challenging more of this shite. No indication the officers did anything wrong. They’ve showed up, probably just to a report of a fight, detained people and then provided first aid until HEMS arrived and even they couldn’t save him.
This is off-the-scale awful.
Have the police officers who handcuffed a bleeding and dying man been arrested for complicity in murder?
Has whatever training or directive which told them to prioritise a claim of racial abuse over assault and possible murder been revoked?
@FWE_DND@ObamaWellington@SAshworthHayes Sorry I’m confused? So you’re saying the police stabbed him? Or that providing first aid and calling HEMS out wasn’t enough?
@Simontcha5@kent_police Yes that’s the case I’m referring to. No one handcuffed anyone and let them bleed out. The police officers provided first aid until a HEMS doctor arrived and even they unfortunately could not save him.
@Simontcha5@kent_police That would be awful! When did this happen? The only recent story I can find is the one where the officers provided first aid and called a HEMS doctor out but the person still sadly died…
@k1482@dontforgetchaos He’s not restrained at any point when they are kicking him. He still has the knife as well. Yes, police officers can kick people in the head, it’s no different to hitting them in the head with a baton which would have also been justified.
@martin_clark1@gig_itty_gig@WasAcop The exemption *in law* just say they are exempt from the speed limit, red lights and keep left signs. It doesn’t have any further clarification than that so I’m not sure what part you think officers aren’t sticking to.
@CJ2806110416722@HussainShafiei@metpoliceuk They are correctly arresting people you mean? I am aware of the court ruling but it’s being appealed. The law has not changed yet. PA are still proscribed. The police deal with the law as it is now, not the law in the future.
@CJ2806110416722@HussainShafiei@metpoliceuk They are accountable, from the collar numbers written on their uniform. They‘re not concealing their identities at all. The officers details will be on the arrest record, on the crime report, on the use of force form if there is one. You don’t need to know who they are.
@CJ2806110416722@HussainShafiei@metpoliceuk To reiterate, they’re not embarrassed, they just don’t want their faces plastered online for people to pretend they’ve done something wrong, rather than the criminals they’re arresting. Also, if the numbers are ‘meaningless’ why do officers have them?
@glynbmil@ScotNational@HertsPolice Would you be in a good mood to answer questions of you knew someone was filming you with the intention of posting it online to pretend you’re the one doing something wrong? Whatever answer they gave would not be good enough anyway.
@CJ2806110416722@HussainShafiei@metpoliceuk They’re not embarrassed, they just don’t want their faces plastered all over the internet by people who think they are somehow worse than the criminals they’re arresting. Their identities are clearly visible, it’s the numbers on their epaulettes. Also they’re Crown Servants.
@glynbmil@ScotNational@HertsPolice Police officers are Crown servants. They police by overall consent, not the consent of an individual. They are under no obligation to answer any questions asked by people they are arresting.
@glynbmil@ScotNational@HertsPolice Why should they have done? What officer is going to get into a conversation about that when it’s entirely irrelevant to the arrest. Posting footage of stuff like this is all about inviting people to insult the officers and detract from the criminal they’re there to deal with.
@glynbmil@ScotNational@HertsPolice It’s clearly in the middle paragraph? And they’re not ‘exceptions’ anyway, there isn’t a law saying police officers can’t cover their faces. The officer will be wearing a mask because idiots keep posting them online claiming they’ve done something wrong.
