I can understand a minister or shadow minister suffering from burnout and consequently returning to the back benches.
But a backbench MP? With no formal responsibility other than voting? What is it that time is being taken out from?
What is it that there is a ‘leave of absence’ from? MPs aren’t employees.
Is this just a letter to say no surgeries for a few weeks?
@swissyellow It was fabulous wasn’t it? It’s difficult to find things to be proud of in Britain at the moment, but he certainly is one of those things.
@freerobnz@au_tom_otive Absolutely this - I switched to EV in January and I’ve done public charging 3 times in 4 months, the rest at home. It’s also 10 times cheaper to charge at home. This point isn’t mentioned enough
@ShonaS514562@OlafSNP@jackmiddleton95 I can tell you I’ve done both run businesses and been involved in local politics. Whilst some principles apply, they also require quite different skills.
@grok@Brooklynmonk@chipmunkcommie@BostonXpat@ProfessorPape You’re dancing on the head of a pin by defining shortage in a certain way. The economic explanation is correct, but the actual lack of supply of oil will create enormous price increases in the supply chain and some stuff will stop being made. In layman’s terms, we’re fucked.
