The U.S. State Department, under both Democrats and the GOP, contributed to the awful crisis in #Haiti. So we have a moral obligation to stop deporting #Haitians to where they may be murdered. My report @newrepublic. @VelinaEC@TheNancyRoc@moniclesca https://t.co/GuoYmvTUOj
Wow! After dragging the names of multiple people through the mud and insisting over and over that vandals had cut the liner, DOJ now admits “it is difficult to attribute the widespread damage to the Reflecting Pool to vandalism.”
TPS holders have built lives here. They've paid taxes. They've made our communities stronger.
Trump is terminating their protections, tearing their families apart, stripping them of their jobs, and forcing them into harm's way all to advance a twisted, anti-immigrant agenda.
We will not accept this cruelty. We will continue fighting for our neighbors.
The Haitian Bridge Alliance strongly condemns USCIS's Interim Final Rule on Affirmative Asylum Processing, which threatens due process and puts vulnerable people seeking safety at greater risk of deportation.

The full regulation is here. It goes into effect tomorrow, with no prior notice to the public (something which will likely be raised in any lawsuit challenging the rule). The government is requesting comments following the rule going into effect. https://t.co/Ss9b7ZcTbF
NEW: The Trump admin just published a new regulation allowing asylum officers at @USCIS to deny hundreds of thousands of applications without an interview, sending applicants directly to deportation proceedings.
This means many people will never get a chance to argue their case.
🚨Important TPS Senate Bill Update🚨
The U.S. Senate did NOT vote against S.4814 - the bill that would provide 3 years of protection for Haitian TPS holders.
📞Keep calling, texting, and emailing senators from every state. Ask them to VOTE YES on S.4814 when the bill comes to the floor for a formal vote:

The fight continues🇭🇹
ICE has shot and killed 10 people since Trump came back into office. 2 more in the last week. In addition, 50 people have died in ICE detention.
ICE has become a killing machine. We cannot let this feel normal. It isn't.
People all around the country are calling for TPS for Haiti, will you join us?
@mickaelguirand says TPS for Haiti
@theeroyalnotes says TPS for Haiti
@AYIITI says TPS for Haiti
🚨Critical work authorization update for TPS holders
➡️Work authorization for Haitian and Syrian TPS holders is now valid until July 24th
Our team is working round the clock to secure protections of nearly half a million TPS holders. Stay tuned for further updates.
Remember, just last week it came out in court that ICE outright invented a fake murder attempt on one of their officers and tried to send a man to prison for decades on claims he choked an agent, even though THEY were the ones who actually put the guy in a chokehold!
Incredibly devastating decision from the Supreme Court has landed nearly half a million Haitian+Syrian TPS holders at risk of deportation. HBA’s Executive Director, Guerline Jozef, makes the following statement calling for the Senate to pass S.4814 as our chance of protecting TPS
The Trump Admin is trying to end automatic extensions on work permits for workers who are legally authorized to work in the United States and who are awaiting a renewal of their work permit, forcing them to stop providing for their families or be fired by their employer.
I’m forcing a vote in the Senate to reverse this unfair rule that will harm workers and their families, businesses, and our economy.
Fanor, a Haitian TPS recipient, suffered a stroke from the months long uncertainty of his future.
This Wednesday, the US Supreme Court will be hearing arguments over the fate of Fanor and hundreds of thousands of TPS holders from Haiti and Syria.
@SenAdamSchiff As your constituent, I urge you to reject adding more funds for deadly immigration detention and mass arrests, which terrorizes our communities and fuels a system of mass incarceration for profit. Our communities deserve better.
