@RutgersAltRoute Bullying should be immediately reported to the school's HIB coordinator and families should be contacted and colleagues should be met with as well to create an effective team to find the root cause of the bullying and nip in in the bud.

@RutgersAltRoute One challenge that harassment, intimidation and bullying present is the fact that if the school and the classroom are not safe spaces it is impossible for students to learn. I think that effective teachers are able to learn the root causes of bullying and make the classroom safe.

@RutgersAltRoute I contact parents regularly with Class Dojo and I have regular meetings with my colleagues because I feel that regular communication helps to create a team that can tackle issues effectively and it allows me to gather more info about the student in other classes and at home.

@RutgersAltRoute I keep my eyes and ears open at all time and when there is a problem I try to identify the root of the problem by talking with the bullying student privately to understand why they feel the need to hurt another person and how or why that makes them feel better.

@RutgersAltRoute I have the students do a lot of collaborative learning so that they are used to working together as a team and it also allows me to scan the room and observe how students are interacting and if they are exhibiting socially acceptable behavior.

@KabbaniGSE Teachers working with students with special needs should use a lot methods for differentiation. I think that teachers should make teach the information with a lot of visuals or any other teaching styles that works for the unique ways each special need students learns.

@RutgersAltRoute I want to try using pear deck. I have heard of it but never used it but it was also recommended to me by my principal so I would like to learn how it can benefit my classroom practice.
