๐๐๐คโค๏ธ Happy Youth Day, South Africa! โค๏ธ๐ค๐๐
Today, we celebrate the courage, resilience, creativity, and potential of young people across our nation.
At NCPD, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, participate, and thrive in an inclusive society. We recognise the invaluable contributions of youth with disabilities, who continue to challenge barriers, redefine possibilities, and help shape a South Africa where everyone belongs.
As we commemorate Youth Day, we honour the young people who inspire change through their determination, leadership, and vision for a better future.
As we prepare for Casual Day 2026 โ Beat As One: Rhythm Matters, we celebrate the unique rhythm that every young person brings to our communities. When we stand together, support one another, and create opportunities for all, we build a stronger, more inclusive South Africa.
๐ต Every voice matters. Every dream matters. Every Beat matters. Every rhythm matters.
Happy Youth Day!

At the recent SASCOC General Meeting, President Barry Hendricks and CEO Nozipho Jaftha shared exciting updates. With LA 2028 ahead, SASCOC is driving podium ambitions with para-athletes as part of the push. South Africa is also pursuing the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
๐ฑ Youth Day 2026 at Mossel Bay APD: honour the value and potential of every young person. Our children enjoyed a Colour Run and planted seeds; adults started a vegetable garden. Simple actions powerful message: with support people grow beyond expectations. #YouthDay2026#MiAPD
Our Adult Care group at Mossel Bay APD in Grootbrak learned how to plant seeds for our vegetable garden. This self-development activity built practical skills, confidence, independence, responsibility and teamwork.

Child Protection Month reminds us that every child deserves dignity, protection and inclusion. Harmful myths around disability still exist in some communities. Through Peer Support & Respite Care, Mossel Bay APD helps families with awareness, education and support.

Every child deserves to be safe, heard, and protected. ๐

Freedom Day ๐ฟ๐ฆ
We are not truly free until everyone has access to healthcare, education, jobs, housing, transport & inclusive spaces.
Free to live a Life of Inclusion.

What does freedom look like for a person with a disability?
Access. Opportunity. Dignity.
Too many still face barriers to buildings, jobs, and inclusion.
As Freedom Day approaches, letโs make inclusion essential โ not optional.

Soos ons Vryheidsdag nader: is ons stelsel werklik inklusief?

Freedom means nothing if itโs not accessible to everyone.
As we move closer to Freedom Day, we reflect on a hard truth: many persons with disabilities in South Africa still face daily barriers โ from inaccessible buildings to limited transport.
Freedom is not just a right.
