@credealjunkie Lending on multi family is more complicated and you may have tenants renting well below market rate and there's little you can do about that in SF
Day 1 @OpenAI
Feels pretty surreal to be joining a frontier lab right now :)
I'll inevitably post more on our releases.
A few promises to self:
- despite the above, I'll try to remain as balanced as possible in my AI takes
- I won't start using the term "cracked" π
We want govt agencies recruiting/retaining talented people and to do that they need to pay competitive rates. So these people are probably deserving of these compensations. It is a complex organization with 1.5B budget. With that being said, sfmta does have a $300M deficit which is growing and the backstop to that is always the tax payer ultimately. That's my big concern. There are no incentives for fiscal responsibility in govt agencies. If comp raises for directors/managers were contingent on some KPI that the public could track, I don't think many in SF would oppose or be shocked by these salaries.
@OfficialLoganK Your model release cadence is such that openai/anthropic probably have 2 or more models ready to launch that would outperform 3.7 flash. Your benchmarking against models that are a few months old.
@jump3rray@XavierBecerra I couldn't agree more. It's a bit ridiculous that we pay 2x-ish the national average. It's another example of a regressive policy that ends up hurting lower income households more; same as the gas tax. They should make it a priority to lower both of these across the board.
@thsottiaux - The project grouping makes a lot of sense in codex.
- Remote connections are pretty good and easy to setup.
- models are fast and quality is good
- overall ux for the desktop app is great. Used to use CC CLI and it definitely made me more tired by end of day.
@31_skinny@shiringhaffary@RebeccaTorrenc5@grok Seems like they're going to be at about 70-80B ARR in the near future. Anthropic around 100-110B. If they get a 20-30x multiple of revenue they should ipo well above their current valuation. But I guess anthropic will be the bellwether
If/when the ai bubble pops it will be because of robotics. So many investors are getting duped into investing multiple times at crazy valuations with nothing to show except for marketing videos and promises. Teleop is not s scalable way to run a real business or collect data.
There are a few exceptions in the space that will ultimately succeed in a big way and I'm excited about that :)
Today, weβre launching Tauβs humanoid cleaning service in San Francisco at $30 per hour.
Access is initially invite-only as we scale operations. If you donβt have an invite yet, join the waitlist at https://t.co/JrRpjIzRZv.
All footage is shown at 1Γ speed. Each humanoid is jointly controlled by a human operator and AI.
My favorite city in the US and the place I happily choose to live in but why are things so upside down sometimes in SF? Why are a small group of people allowed to sell drugs and stolen goods semi-freely, use drugs freely across our city near kids parks, camp on our sidewalks. I truly can't understand why we let this madness go on without clear outcomes and accountability, and yet fine a father for teaching his kid to play tennis and give outrageously high parking citations to law abiding citizens with no leniency. So frustrating. @DanielLurie@mattdorsey@bilalmahmood@bett_yu
A San Francisco dad brought his kids to play tennis at a public park. Two rangers showed up and accused him of illegally coaching without a permit.
