- The closest thing the Nets have ever had to a homegrown star is Brook Lopez.

- Brooklyn has not selected in the lottery since 2010 when they fell from 1st (Wall) to 3rd (Favors) after going just 12-70.

- The Nets have not had the #1 pick since 2000 (Kenyon Martin), which was a historically weak draft.

- The Nets, an ABA powerhouse, had to forfeit Julius Erving upon entering the NBA.

- The Nets lost one of their franchise greats, Drazen Petrovic, to tragedy.

- Brooklyn’s “once in a generation” team fell victim to a once in a generation pandemic and unfortunate injury luck.

This has been a franchise littered with misfortune over the years. It’s time for that luck to change.
