Why research firearms? I My lived experience both professionally and personally, give me a unique perspective on the impact of firearm violence. I chose to pursue this avenue of research because I have witnessed the immediate and lasting effects firearm violence has on individuals and entire communities. I’ve seen how communities are left to pick up the pieces in the aftermath of violence; as well as the barriers and challenges that individuals are presented with in the aftermath of violence. My hope is that my research will help inform policies that address the root causes of firearm violence, leading to programs and funding that support healing and foster a culture of health and equity, particularly in marginalized communities most affected by firearm violence.

If you’re attending the @ASCRM41 conference in San Francisco this week, it will be worthwhile to sit in on a powerful author-meets-critic panel discussion for retired NYPD Lieutenant @EdwinRaymondNYC book, An Inconvenient Cop: My Fight to Change Policing in America.
Late post because I recently discovered the article exists. Last year, I had the privilege of testifying as an expert witness in a murder case involving violations of the California Racial Justice Act. The article below provides insight into the case. https://t.co/2WtARlVHg1
