Texas Tech barely broke 200 total yards against Oregon today. 23-0.
JMU had 228 total yards in the 1st half (509 total) AT Oregon. 51-34.
Yet a nationwide smear campaign against JMU and the entire G5 ensued the following week.
Tulane and JMU were outgained in the playoffs by a COMBINED 81 yards.
Alabama and Miami (round 1 WINNERS) were outgained by a combined 150 yards.
Tulane and JMU also played two higher seeded teams in the first round.
Don’t let national media pushing narratives about G5 programs for ratings $ convince you that there’s a bigger talent discrepancy between top G5 teams and P4 teams than there actually is.
Fact: the Ole Miss-Tulane first quarter was more competitive than the first quarters of Ohio State-Tennessee and Ohio State-Oregon last year. Did anybody say the Ducks and Vols shouldn't have been there?
Ohio State led Oregon 34-0 in the 2nd quarter last year but everyone chalked it up as ‘elite play’ from Ohio State. And that’s just one of many examples.
The goal post shifting because it’s a “G5” team is wild.
TCU lost by 58.
Florida State lost by 39.
Michigan State lost by 38.
Oklahoma lost by 35.
Ohio State lost by 31.
Alabama lost by 28.
SMU lost by 28.
Ohio State lost by 28.
Notre Dame lost by 27.
Tennessee lost by 25.
This is common for the CFP.
Stop complaining about Tulane.
P4: "G5 teams would have NO chance against P4 in the playoffs."
G5: "Then play us during the regular season."
P4: "No - because there IS a chance you could beat us, and that would hurt our playoff chances."
Arkansas is hiring Chad Lunsford as special teams coordinator, sources tell @CBSSports. He was most recently Auburn’s special teams coordinator and was previously the head coach at Georgia Southern.
Sometimes you get to see what people do with the money you spend at their business. I’ve spent A LOT at this man’s store. Here he is feeding folks. God bless Southern Exchange Company and William and Kristy Martin. They belong in the Georgia Southern Athletics Hall of Fame. GATA
