Another overflowed toilet (same house, different toilet); a pneumonia diagnosis for that “croup-y” kid (!); and an unintentional revisitation of a painful memory (what was I thinking?!) — all overpowered by the whiff of lilac that wafted over from the neighbor’s yard. #grateful

Today began w/ an overflowed toilet, a croup-y kid, an ingrown toenail & an empty bag of coffee beans. But at drop-off time, I beheld a magnificent maple tree next to the entrance of the school. The glimmer of gratitude that brought to my beleaguered spirit will light whole day.
