On behalf of the people and government of the Republic of Kenya, I wish to add my voice to those condemning the recent attempted assassination of former U.S. President Donald J. Trump. I extend my deepest sympathies to President Trump, his family, and the families of the victims of this shocking, heinous act.

In these troubling times, I take this opportunity to recommit to the democratic ideals we share with the people of the United States of America. Wishing @realDonaldTrump a speedy and full recovery.

Good morning, Dr. @EAukot. Last time I checked, you were accusing President William Ruto that he didn't support the 2010 constitution, and therefore, he can't protect it. Here is a quick one: you were among the architects of the 2010 Constitution. Why have you been championing for Punguza Mzigo, which simply means we do away with some positions, including scrapping the Senate? Reducing the number of parliamentary constituencies to at least 200. Reducing the number of counties to about 10 and requiring each county to elect not more than fifty representatives, so that we can have about three hundred MCAS across the country, which I actually support 100%, but my question is, as you were supporting the Constitution 2010, did you envision a situation where it'll put you in trouble due to its overrepresentation?  Do you agree that President William Ruto was right at some point? Do you agree with this article https://t.co/ni6QA8yX7m?

In 2023, conman @RailaOdinga asked his supporters to demonstrate throughout the country because he didn’t recognize Ruto as a legitimate president. Hundreds were murdered by Ruto’s goons.

In 2024, when the revolutionary patriots, GenZs and Millennials are on the streets protesting against Ruto and demanding that he vacates office, conman @RailaOdinga has now joined Ruto after being paid by Ruto and is trying to sell fear to the protesters.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - RESIGNATION OF PRESIDENT RUTO

I, @WilliamsRuto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-In-Chief of the Defence Forces,

AWARE that the overwhelming majority of Kenyans have withdrawn their support for me and my government;

CONSCIOUS of Article 1 of the Constitution, which vests sovereignty on the People of Kenya, and empowers them to exercise that sovereignty indirectly through their elected leaders, or DIRECTLY; and

RESPECTING the People’s decision to recall me and my government;

I, hereby announce the DISSOLUTION of the Kenya Kwanza government, and my RESIGNATION, effective July 12, 2024 at midnight.

As directed by the People of Kenya, I shall handover my powers and responsibilities under the Constitution, to the Chief Justice who shall serve as the chair the civilian National Transitional Authority (NTA), made of up of 54 representatives, one from each Kenyan nationality.

I am instructed to announce that the NTA will be chosen by The People’s Colloquium to be established in the coming days.

The NTA will reconstitute the IEBC, which shall conduct fresh presidential and general elections within three months of today’s date.

Finally, I am directed to announce that the NTA will institute an independent investigation of all political assassinations, allocations of public land, misappropriation of public resources and other acts of organized criminal activities, which have had negative impacts on the people of Kenya from 1963 to today’s date.

I thank Kenyans for having give the opportunity to govern them. I apologize for both my personal failures and that of my government.
