@teachbk The self righteous responses on here are quite funny given that they are coming from teachers who seem to have no sense of humor. I worked for 16 years in a Title I middle school. Retired this year. These are honest vent comments. They’re relatable. We don’t say them out loud

I just retired from teaching for several reasons, but mainly because I became obsolete. I couldn’t do the tech fast enough, my white hair stereotyped me, and I was far less jaded and angry than my sixth grade students.

Made the big decision. Taking early retirement. I lived and breathed teaching for 16 years in a Title I school I loved from day one. It’s not the kids who influenced my decision. It’s the “grownups.”

@kristyace @BillGauthier @CajunMSTeacher It’s still called planning. But it’s shortened and we have PLCs, teacher coverage, bathroom duty, parent conferences, IEP meetings…. We used to get back to back which amounted to 90 minutes. This year, we are down to one hour.
