Every once in a while I log back in to twitter. I see a few notifications, a few conversations, a few new followers. Wonder if I’ll stick around this time. Any thoughts out there on why twitter is a good place to be?
We will post about our grief about residential schools, we will post about our expectation that government do something about lack of clean water on First Nations, about scanning former school sites for unmarked graves, etc but how will we vote? Ask your candidates about it.
Really enjoyed being back preaching after 3 weeks of vacation. Here’s today’s message on how The Good Samaritan is still a radical call to love people we would would usually despise, avoid, or disagree with. https://t.co/hXQJYOTpgy
This is quite the rabbit hole, but yeah - someone should make this into another Greenland-ish, Armageddon-ish movie. "How can we stop the moon from spiralling toward us?"
Realizing that God is sending you is one thing. Knowing where to go, what to do, and then actually getting a move on can be much more complicated. #letgodsend#letgod https://t.co/iJsGv5JbNq
Been thinking about wildfires and smoke in North America. This tool helps you see all the effected areas: https://t.co/P77of9Aveh
Praying today for evacuated communities.
give us the sense of comradeship with heroes and saints of every age; and so quicken our spirits that we may be able to encourage the souls of all who journey with us on the road of life, to your honour and glory.
Came across this prayer attributed to St. Augustine (4th Century) and wow - does this hit home for anyone else?
God of life, there are days when the burdens we carry are heavy on our shoulders and weigh us down, when the road seems dreary and endless,
the skies grey and threatening, when our lives have no music in them, and our hearts are lonely, and our souls have lost their courages. Flood the path with light, turn our eyes to where the skies are full of promise; tune our hearts to brave music;
WOW - This episode of #SpiritualityForOrdinaryPeople was so fun to record. Such a thoughtful conversation about Labyrinths and how they help us see deeper into our lives. https://t.co/164QU8qten
#pccga2019 passed motions repudiating the doctrine of discovery. While there has been very painful division at the Assembly, there has been near unanimous support for Indigenous rights and Indigenous Ministries.
Going silent today as we pray, reflect and debate some heavy stuff @PCConnect#PCCGA2019. This is the work of this body called, commissioned and sent to this Assembly. It isn’t a spectator sport. #LoveWins
Rev. Mary Fontaine, an indigenous woman, and leader of Hummingbird Ministries, preaches at our opening worship today. Very thankful for her leadership and teaching. #pccga2019
About to mark the 25th anniversary of the PCCs confession to Indigenous people. I was there in 1994 and I had no real clue what I was witnessing then. Today I am thankful for my indigenous brothers and sisters teaching me. #pccga2019
@jborthwik@PCConnect I think the consensus process actually was helpful in leading the majority wanting to refer. I happen to completely disagree with referring it, but it is where the majority ended up.
