What a pleasure it was to join these Australian soldiers on Anzac Day. Anzac Day celebrates our great allies, Australia and New Zealand. As a national day of honor and remembrance to service members past and present, it was indeed a great honor to commemorate with them.

April is the Month of the Military Child, underscoring the important role children play in the military. There are more than 1.6 mill military children who face many challenges and unique experiences as a result of their parents' service. Let’s celebrate our youngest heroes!

Living in a military town, you don’t have to look very far to find a Vietnam Vet. Some veterans like to remain anonymous, while others proudly donn their service ribbon hat. I trust the opportunity never passes where you stop, shake their hand and thank them for their service.
