In a broader sense- I was jazzed when the pandemic shook up K12 edu (curricularly) as I thought THIS IS IT, we're going to finally revamp the whole system. We're still shoehorning things in2 a long-dead paradigm. The wind of tech integration has gone out of the sails already, too
We seemed to have learned no lessons from the pandemic.
Thinking school schedules should be "normal."
The industrial revolution is over can't we move on from bells moving us class to class and think how teachers and students can have more flexibility?

Hive mind! I'm sorry I seem to only come on here these days to ask advice.. but other #edtech-ies can attest to the difficulty of working in a silo sometimes.. What is your best platform as an #instructionalcoach to reach an entire district re: PD opps, articles, training, etc?
Not sure what happened to this account during the second half of last year, but here I am. Year... 13? 14? Do we count whatever we did during covid? ๐ โโ๏ธ #backtoschool#backinthesaddle
@VictoriaTheTech I'm feeling this! My first year as an instructional tech coach and it's amazing being trusted to do your job, even if it's not within the confines of the teaching schedule. Doctor's appointment? No problem, just make sure x is done on time. We're humans, yay! :D
Teachers are struggling, y'all. Remember our 15 minutes of fame where folks appreciated us, applauded us for our hard work, and even thanked us? Not that anyone does it for the thanks, but... Oh how far we've fallen from here. https://t.co/e641RstfZr
This applies to education, but also just leadership in general. Did we just forget??? And also, why are we still fighting an uphill battle against folks who still won't comply?๐ตโ๐ซ๐ท #covidyear3
Anyone else feel like last year was very carefully thought out and planned after the surge in spring 2020, and this year, nobody seems to have had any forethought as to what to do now that we find ourselves back in a surge.
...Our education system has been silently imploding for decades. Even now, when it's painfully obvious to the world that it's in the alligator-death-roll stages, there is no major revolution on the horizon. Our. Poor. Children. #deepthoughts#tuesday#ripedu ๐
Alarm bells, folks. ALARM. BELLS. Where are our advocates? Legislators? One morning we're going to wake up as a country and there'll be no teachers. What will parents say then? The new-age freedom fighters? Will they step up? I think the worst part is this is not a sudden thing.

Unexpected perk of my office being in the high school = sometimes I am offered the opportunity to participate as a tie breaker vote for the Home Ec class bake-offs... today was Christmas cookies. WHY YES I THINK I CAN OFFER MY SERVICES. #yum#chocolatewon#merrychristmas#cookeh
