@isabelfishers For Maddy Nate isn't just an "ex-boyfriend." Nate = violence, manipulation, control. Cassie choosing Nate = "What you went through doesn't matter to me. In fact, that guy is still preferable to me." This invalidates her trauma in Maddy's eyes that's why Maddy feels humiliated.
Eysenck and then the Big Five β where extraversion was defined by behavioral traits such as social energy, talkativeness, and thrill-seeking.
Not the same as Jung. The questions they ask are different:
Jung: "What is the direction of psychic energy?"
Big Five: "How does this person tend to behave?"
Most MBTI discussions remain inconclusive because they confuse these two questions.
"Introverted = social battery runs out, prefers solitude."
This definition completely misunderstands Jung.
Introversion/extroversion has nothing to do with sociability.
So what does it really mean? π§΅
Therefore, both are possible:
β Very social but introverted in the Jungian sense β because their behavior is based on their own internal evaluation system.
β Quiet and reserved but extraverted β because the mind is constantly focused on external events and circumstances.
Behavior β orientation.
Euphoria characters MBTI types π§΅
In my opinion, what Euphoria really does is show the shadow/unhealthy version of every type. (If you disagree with any of this typing, please let me know.)
Rue: Cold on the outside, sensitive on the inside. ISTPs are generally calm and solution-oriented; but Rue has turned that capacity entirely upside down. She has an observant intelligence, she analyzes everything, but she uses that intelligence to escape, not to survive.
Jules: Jules radiates energy, tries to transform people, and dives headfirst into every new relationship. Typical ENFP.
Nate: He operates through momentary manipulation, possessing a keen understanding of body language and the energy of the environment. Some people say ENTJ, but ENTJs are cold and systematic, while ESTPs are predatory. Nate is definitely the latter. If anyone thinks he's an ENTJ, I'd like to hear their arguments.
Maddy: She knows what she wants, and she knows how to get it. A healthy ESFP radiates joy; in Maddy, however, it's turned into a display of power.
Cassie: The transformation she made for Nate... Cassie is seeking approval performatively. Definitely ESFJ.
Lexi: She sees the big picture, she can turn what she's watching into a game. "Our Life" scene is, in my opinion, an INFJ's exploration of inferior function: "I've always observed from the outside, now I'm describing it."
