In 2021, 26 Kenyans, mostly women traders from Rombo, crossed into Tanzania without papers.

Guess what Tanzania did?

Jailed them. One year or pay up.

A Kenyan governor had to raise about Sh1 million to get them out. Some were breastfeeding mothers denied their babies in custody.

Same Tanzania whose people trade and work in Kenya with far less drama.

So when you defend some of them operating here without papers, remember: next door their govts don’t debate you.

They jail you.
