The Everton board will never do it, but Benitez should be gone by tomorrow. Install Ferguson for the rest of the season; at least the players will (probably) play for him, and the fans will be behind him as well. This current regime never had a chance.
@MattJFootball Your appearance a couple years ago was how I discovered the Blue Room in the first place! And use the pod to show my wife true Scouse accents, so that’s a bonus
@UpperGwladysBlu He won the golden boot in the Europa League in 14-15 and was second in the Premier League in 16-17, when they qualified for Europe. His brace against Chelsea got Everton to the semifinals in the first place, BTW. I’m certainly not going to sniff at 87 goals in 166 appearances.
@thechicoazul I will always defend this from an American perspective. The ground floor *is* the first floor if you’re counting up. Why would you start at zero?
@UpperGwladysBlu I can’t even tell you how many Liverpool “fans” I’ve run into here in the US who probably don’t know that 1) Everton exists in the city and 2) they were founded first. Liverpool is a global brand first and foremost
@MJC_EFC Begone with these reasonable reactions! We’re supposed to complain about why we didn’t take it straight to a team that has the luxury of bringing Mount and Pulisic off the bench!
@thechicoazul Considering we should have won there ~5-6 years ago (but for typical Martinez-era bottling of a lead) I’m going to pretend that the streak there doesn’t exist. Thus, easy three points, right? Let’s take it to this motley assortment of high-priced mercenaries
@MJC_EFC This is exactly right. You know what’s fun to watch? Everton winning. I’d rather see boring 1-0 wins than exciting, end to end 3-2 losses like we had under Martinez
