Mrs Baumgartner’s 2nd graders having fun during math! They did a great job noticing patterns when counting by 10s from any number during their choral count. Also enjoying fluency games to help learn those math facts!

Wonderful day of counting collections in Mrs. Ballard’s 2nd grade class. They focused on organizing, grouping by tens, making 100, being efficient, and drawing to show their collections. They did a great job and had so much fun!
@currermell@ohchadwick It’s happening all over Alabama, and my grandchildren live in Albany, New York and it happened three days there last week as well!
Centering your math program around fact fluency is like centering your reading program around spelling.
Problem solving is to math what comprehension is to reading.
Balance is key!
Enjoyed helping with this real world task to see how many beans were in a bag. Making groups of ten, combining tens to make groups of hundreds, using base-10 pictures to show our work two ways…so many standards were reached!
