@TheJasonPugh I'm in Ontario, and I have recently watched people walk along the Bruce Trail with a cigarette in their hands or vaping. When conditions are tinder dry it makes sense to ban people from the woods. If we could filter it for just stupid people that would be even better, but alas.
Friday 8am I’ll be presenting a paper I wrote with Sean McGowan on (green) industrial policy in the US and Canada
as part of a terrific panel on Assessing Environment-Economy Tradeoffs (LACC, room 150A)

Today, City Council voted, once and for all, to approve the Green Line.
This isn’t a big day for Calgary. It’s the biggest day.
This project is going to change the way Calgarians get around, shape reinvestment in our communities, and help stimulate our local economy.
Had we listened to the "group of concerned citizens" who tried to derail the start of Calgary's LRT system back in 1977 our city would be much worse off today.
Great column by @RickyLeongYYC.

Canadians: wow, I just can't believe the extent of government-sanctioned police and military violence in the US right now. That would never happen here.
