It's #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, which takes place from May 13-19 🧠

This year's theme is all about 'Moving: moving more for your mental health' so we wanted to find out what our students do to keep active and maintain positive mental wellbeing 🤸‍♂️

Arc: Health & Fitness are also providing free fitness classes for all students and staff during the week, giving everyone the opportunity to take a break from studying and get moving 💪

The GCU Outreach team are recruiting Widening Participation (WP) and Outreach Student Mentors to help with their amazing programmes, designed to help and inspire young people within the local community 💙

➡ Widening participation: Work with a range of diverse groups, including local nursery, primary and secondary school students and their families, senior phase pupils and college students considering higher education

➡ Role model and GCU representative: Act as a role model and representative for your course and GCU, delivering activities that will boost confidence, core skills, and lifelong learning aspirations

If you're an Undergraduate student and interested in applying for the role, you'll benefit from £12 per hour and gain excellent experience for your CV!

We have a spectacular feel good story to end the week as our very own Ross Clark and Rachael McAlonan announced their engagement after their recent trip to New York City! 🗽
Their romance is a match made at GCU after meeting whilst working together in the Student Comms Team in 2019 🤗
Love quickly blossomed between the pair, revealing their relationship to shocked team members during lockdown in 2020 before buying their first home together last year.
Congratulations Ross and Rachael! We couldn't be happier for you and we're sure the GCU student community will join us in wishing you a lifetime of happiness together 💙
