@CapelLofft Shouldn't need saying but it does. The Jason Ardey fiasco is like a somewhat exaggerated satire. Intelligent people who put great store by their intelligence don't like to be exposed as gullible fools.
@Mr_Andrew_Fox A brilliant analysis. Post modernism once seemed to be an innocuous and amusing diversion for academics but it seems to be having the last laugh.
@EVKontorovich A daft suggestion if I might say so. Israel should always act in a principled manner. Due to inexplicably poor PR by the Israeli government supporters of Israel are fighting with one hand tide behind their back in the UK already!
@JChimirie66677 There is also unionist versus nationalist dimension in Scotland. Both by elections had important unique factors. You could vote for and against the government by voting for Burnham!
@jonathanshainin Pitiful analysis from a historian. Would take a while to unpick but he ignores the prissy authoritarian legalism at the heart of Starmer's politics. Are the rest of his writings any good?
@blagden_david Inflation plus a fraction of net GDP growth might be better. The fraction should be agreed to maintain or reduce slightly pension costs given demographic changes.
@mattwridley I think you should specify variability as a distinct characteristic. Tidal is reliable (predictable) but variable. The truly horrible options are variable and unreliable. Agree with the point being made, we have grossly irresponsible policies currently.
@latimeralder A blocking high over western Europe can last many days, even several weeks. Chemical batteries would have to be a lot more than 500 times better to be the solution.
