As an ex-Muslim, God's love became so real to me after I learned this.

There’s a foreigner in the book of Ruth who explains why God had to become a man. Ruth was an outsider, a Moabite widow, poor, no future, no claim. 

Exactly how I stood before God.

In that culture there was a “kinsman-redeemer”, a relative who could pay your debt and bring you into his family. But he had to meet three conditions. Ruth 4.

He had to be ABLE to pay. 
He had to be WILLING. 
And he had to be RELATED, near enough kin to qualify.

Boaz was all three. He redeemed Ruth the outsider, and she entered the line of David, and then of Jesus. Ruth 4:13-17, Matthew 1:5.

To redeem me, someone needed all three too.

ABLE, only God has the means. 
WILLING, only love would choose it. 
RELATED. He had to become one of us.

That’s the whole reason for the incarnation. “He had to be made like His brothers in every respect.” Hebrews 2:17.

God couldn’t redeem me from the throne.

He had to become my kinsman to buy me back.

Jesus became my brother to become my Redeemer. He came close enough to qualify.

When I was newly Christian, this blew my mind when I learned it!

The parallel between Melchizedek and Jesus:

Melchizedek shows up for three verses in Genesis and then vanishes, and he’s one of the clearest previews of Christ in the Bible.

Genesis 14. 

Out of nowhere, a king appears: Melchizedek, “king of Salem” (king of peace), and “priest of God Most High.” 

He brings out bread and wine and blesses Abraham. Genesis 14:18-19.

A king AND a priest in one man. 

That never happened in Israel, kings came from Judah, priests from Levi. You were one or the other. Never both.

He has no recorded birth, no death, no genealogy. 

He just appears and blesses.

A thousand years later, David prophesies of the Messiah: 

“You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.” Psalm 110:4.

Not after the order of Aaron, whose priests all died. After the order of the king-priest who seemingly never did.

Hebrews 7 unpacks it: Jesus is the King of Peace who is also our eternal Priest, one who “holds His priesthood permanently, because He continues forever.” Hebrews 7:24. 

A King of Peace. A Priest forever. Handing out bread and wine. In Genesis 14, God flashed the preview. 

At the Last Supper, Jesus handed His disciples bread and wine and said: this is My body, My blood. Luke 22:19-20.

Melchizedek only ever made sense once I met Jesus.

Why didn't God just bring Jacob out of the womb first?

If God had already chosen Jacob before birth, a single shift in the dark of Rebekah’s womb could have put the elected son first, sparing decades of family wreckage, deceit, and the threat of murder.

So why didn't He do it?

In Genesis 25:23, long before either boy drew a breath, God explicitly declared that the elder would serve the younger.

Yet He allowed Esau to emerge seconds ahead, leaving Jacob holding his heel.

Why allow decades of a stolen blessing, a murderous brother, and a shattered home when an adjustment too small to measure would have solved everything?

Because God was not merely directing history. He was educating human sight.

Throughout Scripture, God places His people inside lived dilemmas that strain human logic to its absolute breaking point, then resolves them in ways no one could have deduced.

The crisis itself is the classroom.

In the ancient Near East, the right of the firstborn was the entire structural architecture of society.

Humanity had conflated natural sequence with divine favor. First out of the womb meant first in line for everything that mattered.

A rigid, predictable system gave human pride something it could measure, manage, and claim credit for.

By placing Jacob second and crowning him anyway, God delivered a devastating verdict on that entire worldview. He torpedoed the natural order to dismantle human self-reliance.

If Jacob had been born first, divine election would have looked like entitlement.

It would have validated what the world already believed: that God naturally favors the strong, the early, the well-positioned, and the first in line.

Centuries later, the Apostle Paul looks back at this exact moment in Romans 9.

He points out that before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad, God declared that the elder would serve the younger. Divine favor depends not on human birth order or exertion, but on God, who shows mercy.

And in 1 Corinthians 1, Paul reveals the engine behind this pattern across all of history. God intentionally chooses what the world considers foolish, weak, low, and second-born so that no human being can boast in His presence.

This is not divine underdog favoritism. It is divine sabotage against human boasting.

We see this exact pattern running through the entire canon.

Jacob over Esau. Ephraim over Manasseh. Judah and Joseph over Reuben. David chosen from the fields while his older brothers stood in line. Even the scandal of the cross standing victorious over worldly conceptions of power.

It reaches its climax in the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus bypasses the polished halls of the Temple, sits down in the dirt on a hillside, and redefines 'blessedness' for the broken, the meek, and the overlooked.

God refused to bring Jacob out first because of people like you and me.

He did it so that anyone who feels late to the table, second-rate, or written off by the natural order knows that the God of the universe specializes in choosing the unchosen.

Even more remarkable, she delivered her entire valedictory speech in fluent Russian before fellow graduates, university officials, faculty members, family and guests. Her speech was met with applause and has attracted widespread admiration on social media.

The Muslim religion is the fastest-growing religion per capita in the United States, especially among minority races.
Last month I attended a training. During the training session, three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant, and Muslim faiths each presented their beliefs.
I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Muslim gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.
After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers. When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Muslim and asked:
'Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?'
There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, “Nonbelievers"
I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?'
The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.'
He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.'
I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine the Pope commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same to guarantee them a place in heaven!'
The Muslim was speechless.
I continued, 'I also have a problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question:
Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?'
You could have heard a pin drop.
Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the 'Diversification' training seminar were not happy with my way of dealing with the Islamic Imam, and exposing the truth about the Muslims' beliefs.
In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the US to elect the President.
I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to read this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference.

Today, the last set of children from our #65FreeAdenotonsillectomySurgeries were discharged from the ward. Only one child remains on IV antibiotics and is expected to be discharged tomorrow, God willing. From the beginning of this initiative to celebrate Mr Peter Obi’s 65th birthday, we screened over 100 children. More than 70 had medical or surgical indications for adenotonsillar disease, and every child who required adenotonsillectomy had a successful surgery. The final surgeries were completed on Sunday. Today three of the last four families gave me a bottle of wine as a token of gratitude and I received it with a grateful heart. But the greatest reward is seeing these children breathe easier, sleep peacefully, and return home healthier. My sincere thanks to every surgeon, anaesthetist, paediatrician, nurse, theatre staff, cleaner, technician, volunteer, and to every Nigerian who prayed for us throughout this journey. To God alone be all the glory.

Grace removed the barrier. It did not remove the altar.

The veil was torn, not so that men would stop coming, but so that men could finally come boldly.

Grace did not abolish prayer. Grace abolished the distance.

Grace did not abolish fasting. Grace abolished the idea that fasting purchases what Christ has already paid for.

Grace did not abolish consecration. Grace changed its motivation. We are not consecrated to become accepted. We consecrate because we have been accepted.

And here is the scandal of our generation: we have more access and sometimes less appetite.

Men who believed they had to climb mountains climbed them. Men who thought they had to tarry all night tarried.
Now we preach that the veil is torn, the blood has spoken, the throne is accessible, and yet we barely enter.

Something is wrong when superior revelation produces inferior devotion

This morning, I drove with my daughter for her IT, and I felt incredibly proud and accomplished as a father. My wife was monitoring us excitedly over the phone. She will be entering Part 3 this year.

But come to think of it, how is she entering Part 3 this year when she only matriculated last year?
Last year, she did JUPEB and came out with the best result in her field. She took after her dad 😂

All she needed was a good JAMB score. Unfortunately, she scored 179. We were devastated.
But Alex Onyia would have none of it.
He challenged JAMB, and JAMB eventually acknowledged that there had been a glitch. She rewrote the examination and scored 299, the highest score for her course among those admitted that year.
So, she matriculated directly into Year 2!
Think about it: if Alex hadn't gone the extra mile, she might have lost two precious years and would only be hopefully gaining admission this year.
This is why, when some people see me passionately promoting people like Alex Onyia @winexviv, they wonder if something is wrong with me.

Sheikh Yahaya Jangir.

He said Muslims should show political “dominance” over Christians.

Called Christians “infidels.”

This is why Christians are so persecuted in northern Nigeria.

It isn’t just terrorists. It’s prominent religious and political leadership.

Sheikh Jangir is based in Jos, Plateau State.

Perhaps the epicenter of persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

I hate discussing religion dominance in Nigeria. Because I believe it doesn't matter.

But I wish to counter the unfortunate sheik's claim that Muslims dominate Nigeria.

This lie stems from the deception that Northern Nigerians are all Muslims.

Bro, there's a large Christian community in Northern Nigeria. There's also a large community of traditional worshipers in the North.

If you separate the Christians and traditional worshipers from the Muslims in the North. You will realize the population of Northern Muslims is exaggerated for political reasons.

Now if you add the population of Muslim In the West to that of the North you will finally realise that Muslims are actually the minority in Nigeria.

Add the population of the Christians in the Southeast, South south, Southwest, and the North together, and you discover that Christians are the majority population in Nigeria.

Christians dominate Nigeria.

But Muslim are more politically conscious.
