LEVC factory on 12th June. Practically empty. How can you say ‘built to demand’, how can you be asking for money on the cab when there are no cabs? even TfL can work out that it didn’t make any sense.
@PaulParklane I agree, yet there were just a couple of cars in the car park. So no sign of engineers. If a cab was going to be launched at, say, end 2027 then by now there should be test vehicles running around, security would be tight, suppliers would be talking. No sign of any of that.
New badge holder getting his licence tomorrow… Been ringing around and has called here . There are no cabs to hire !! Unfortunately he is redundant as of tomorrow. How is that a good look ?
@coltscabs@The_LCDC Facts are clear & support Colts argument: there were 409 ‘newly licensed’ taxis in London in 12 months to 31st May (source TfL), Based on average replacement cycle there should have been 937. So, LEVC are NOT supplying to demand, nowhere near. Why not? @TheLTDA@LEVCBreweryRoad
@The_LCDC A lot of ‘wishy washy’ recommendations but one thing is clear - if the current government turmoil doesn’t stop the legislation - CCTV will become mandatory in all Taxis and PHV’s. That’s positive
@coltscabs Cab shortage is factual. 12 mths June 1 2025 - 31May 2026 the number of cabs in London dropped by 893 (14,502 to 13,609) The number of drivers dropped 680 (16,615 to 15,935). This reverses previous trend. Unless drivers can double, more will be driven out of work.

Well !! There is a certain governing body that has successfully succeeded in making the self employed REDUNDANT!There are no cabs to rent and it’s not even September. 8 hour wait for some and many told to come back tomorrow. Similar to the DEPRESSION.. You you and you ! Can work
@BondCabdriver@YouTube I’m sure you’ve seen the complaints that fleets have put up their weekly rents by £20 pw and being accused of taking advantage of short supply.
‘Crisis’ - probably not at present, except for the first owner whose Euro 5 cab comes off and he can’t find a replacement
No one ever wanted to explain to me why the LTDA Association was paying LTDA Enterprises
£380,000 rent a year, bearing in mind Oddy and McNamara falsified LTDA accounts. Where did the £23 million for Woodfield Road end up.
@MCalvey415 Talk about losing money, ask Patons how much Geof and friends lost on Xeta.
Bit of a problem on Geof’s dates. There wasn’t a TX4 around in 1974. He might have got an Austin FX4, the TX4 didn’t come out for another 32 years. Better get yourself a better proof reader, Geof 😜
@Taxi_Point@LTDAForum it didn’t need a degree in economics to work out there was never any chance of more funding. (BTW, do you have one, Steve?). With new TXe’s not available, second hand prices increasing due hardly a used cab in sight why on earth would TfL put any support. Duh
