Haïti ne doit pas être oubliée dans l'engagement collectif que le monde a pris en 2015 à travers les Objectifs de Développement Durable (ODD). Pour des millions d'Haïtiennes et d'Haïtiens, cette promesse mondiale revêt une importance cruciale et passe inévitablement par la restauration de la sécurité, l'amélioration des conditions de vie des plus vulnérables, l'organisation d'élections libres et transparentes, ainsi que la relance de l'économie.
Dans ce contexte, il est impératif que la communauté internationale reconnaisse que la réalisation des ODD en Haïti ne sera possible qu'avec un soutien accru pour renforcer les institutions, stabiliser la situation sécuritaire, et investir dans des programmes de développement durable qui touchent directement les secteurs essentiels, tels que l'éducation, la santé, et la création d'opportunités économiques. Les Haïtiens et Haïtiennes méritent de vivre dans un pays où la dignité humaine est préservée, où chaque citoyen peut participer à un avenir plus prospère et équitable, en accord avec l’esprit des ODD.
