I was a retired teacher / principal, now I’m not! Very proud (and humbled and amazed!) to be MLA for Saskatoon Chief Mistawasis. And still gbatt! (you’ll ask!)
@tammyrobert Yikes! Don’t want you to be confused Tammy! Grew up in Saskatchewan (60s, 70s) loving bagged milk, was thrilled to live in Quebec and enjoy it for a decade or more … sounds like Ontario has it too? Da best!
@PrincipalMrW Ian says listen to this and luckily I’ve listened to him (this time at least). Sport, arts, life, what a message! This has 1.9M views and could / should be played 10x10x more times . Bravo! #PlayOn
@ellenrw_ $55 … hmmm … what would it look like if I was there? I mean, not about me per se but would it be a locked down 1 way “conversation” or would it be a discussion? I know what I’d expect but maybe others know better? Hmmmm ….
@sallyjaybird @DocMCohen@ShopprsDrugMart I went to the effort of isolating the typo only to realize (duh!) that I wasn’t the first one to notice it! So as to not have completely wasted my time!
@chakenbake@Cree_binch Been doing some traveling lately, lots of dreamcatchers in France, lots in Istanbul but we don’t remember seeing any in Marrakech… there’s a market to be developed, if only it was all recognized at “times $10”!
@HughNerlien You mean the STF I think . . . and not sure what "movement" means to you but none of what you have listed here is more than "empty promises" until it's in a collective agreement . . . you can't believe everything you're told to think my friend!
@DennisDill I was a middle years trained, high school teacher when I became a K-3 (yes, 1 class, 4 grades combined) teacher and . . . learned how to teach!! Slowly at first, it turned into mostly project based experiential learning. I did return to "normal" school eventually - talk anytime!
@Jo_BootsBoots 2/2 . . . half day a week "clubs" in which teachers developed their own programs, students from all ages . . . it was amazing to see how powerful it was for both students and teachers . . . then covid happened and . . . still a great idea @DennisDill Empower teachers!!
@Jo_BootsBoots The masters thesis I never wrote (copped out for a "Capstone" paper, course based degree) had as its thesis "the greatest untapped resource in education is the unreleased passion of the classroom teacher". At the last school I got to be principal at we were just starting . . 1/2
@tkeisig You mean the 8 schools that are going to run "pilot" projects" . . . teachers, school admin, know how to do this already, it just has to be guaranteed, ongoing universal . . . @PrincipalMrW and we all have watched 10+ years of budget cuts make this the emergency it has become!
@PrincipalMrW @mearaconwayMLA Thanks Mr Principal . . . I like you too! Maybe in 4 years you'll help the sitting majority NDP government win a 2nd term!
@graysonbeaudin@ctvsaskatoon 2/2 . . . just to say that if anyone thinks this is some sort of "cherry picking" trust me, some degree of aggressive or straight up violent interaction is a pretty daily experience . . . running interference for teachers was a big part of my job as an in-school administrator!
@graysonbeaudin@ctvsaskatoon Not like I want to start telling stories, focussing on the negative when truly it is a drop in the ocean of all the wonderful positive things going on in schools but . . . 1/2
@park_star Oh oh oh thank you again! You got me to find the amazing SS song … used to dance around sooooo much with this 20+ years ago! And I’d forgotten all the amazing cameo appearances! Check it out! You won’t be sorry! https://t.co/2ykAT1Av3A
@park_star And ditto! Thanks for tagging me and getting me going on X … even changed my photo from the school bagged donald duck of the last 15 years to something a tad more “professional” (but not to worry! I’m never gonna put down the duckie! (Amazing Sesame Street song!))
