@fuckinfranco@tom_metalhead@Begaria@Sebbywebz Square clearly thought FF was still a brand that would cause people to buy PS5. They were wrong. I believe it's because stagnant releases and changing the formula between each cycle caused younger generations to not adopt the brand killing their customer base and relevance
@fuckinfranco@tom_metalhead@Begaria@Sebbywebz Well to be fair, prove the review is biased. Steam user scores for both games match critic reviews, rebirth slightly lower I assume due to PC performance issues. Id understand if critic scores were high while user reviews were low.
And yes, Square clearly expected higher sales.
@fuckinfranco@tom_metalhead@Begaria@Sebbywebz It's the main factor for release sales. The ongoing sales have been strong according to both hamaguchi and Kitase. Hamaguchi even posting about it today. However we don't have updated sales and it's been 2 years. It won't mirror launch sales. Square clearly wanted more tho
@fuckinfranco@tom_metalhead@Begaria@Sebbywebz Yeah but the thing is a lot of those points are subjective. Like the critic reviews are good, they match user submitted reviews. Both suggest that the games are generally well received. Square has issues, I don't agree that's the issue.
"Modern FF fans are bullies!"
Says the people going around harassing everyone remotely positive of the recent games and demanding for them to debate their criticisms.
@tom_metalhead@fuckinfranco@Begaria@Sebbywebz And for 16, I somewhat agree. It sold 3 mil it's first week on 38mil ps5 units but FF trying to rebrand every entry and having massive releases isn't working for them. And 16 is quite the departure. It's like restarting the brand.
@tom_metalhead@fuckinfranco@Begaria@Sebbywebz Do you want to review the numbers I cited above?
Less than half the people that bought remake were even able to purchase rebirth.
I do think there is some validity in the disatisfaction complaint, I just don't think it's that much of the issue compared to exclusivity.
@fuckinfranco@tom_metalhead@Begaria@Sebbywebz And yes, a small portion of fans disliked the changes between remake to OG or just the design changes from the traditional formula of FF itself. However user and critic reviews suggest the game is generally well received. The sales flop argument isn't as valid as y'all make it
@Itto91366@RamzaNewtype@SlayerNKnight@evrythngmachne@finalfantasyvii I'm not sure of every change but yeah several characters like Yuffie and Cait Sith and clearly Cid had some major changes to their character. Cid we don't know but Yuffie and Cait are such better versions in remake. I trust Cid will be an enjoyable character even if different.
@bluthundyr@Memon207@VGC_News Omg you've been saying this shit for two years in every comment section despite being proven wrong multiple times lol
Part 3 is releasing and your constant crybaby attention seeking isn't going to change that. Get fucked loser
@_SpyDtroid_ When you get done, there's a good video by @ffunion that breaks down the story in a nice way. A bit long but very enjoyable.

@coffeeowl1010@OgreBattleUnit Lack of interest. A remake like 7 would be too expensive and risky. Not sure they think there's enough interest to do a smaller scale version like some of the recent games like dragon quest. It's one of the more niche older RPG games.
@sammylee_0 I mean if this gives an idea, I saw a dev from Square talking about what they work on and said something like "I can only render Sephiroth so many times before I get tired of looking at his face"
Sephiroth is Squares most iconic villain forever lol
